What is it like doing digital asset accounting for our clients? The entire industry itself is a giant start-up. Days are filled with new challenges, learning opportunities, and, yes, sometimes failure. To succeed, you must be fearless and unafraid to make mistakes and learn from them. You must be insatiably curious, always seeking new creative solutions from unexpected sources. And you must be tenacious, relentlessly problem-solving, and pushing towards conclusions. At Fuel3, we dig into the adventure of accounting for our clients every day, and we love it!

I fell down the blockchain/crypto rabbit hole in 2018 after seeing a session at QBO Connect and haven’t recovered since. Dubbed “Web3,” this space has seen the greatest innovation since the internet and unleashed accounting, tax, and regulatory puzzles just waiting to be solved. How can you not love being on the bleeding edge of Web3 and working with creative and collaborative kindred spirits whose motto is “If you want to go fast, go alone but if you want to go far, go together.” And the payoff is exploring new horizons, celebrating successes, and embracing humility from failures. This is what fuels our drive to provide entrepreneurs with the support and guidance they need to realize their vision.

Accounting in Web3 and SaaS isn’t a niche — it’s a whole different game. Most accountants see that complexity and step back. I step in. My work at Fuel3 is built around founder-led companies at every stage of growth, and the rules are still catching up to the technology. That’s not a problem, that’s the point. I like sitting with a founder in the weeds and helping them see a clearer path forward — whether that’s structuring an entity, making sense of on-chain activity, or untangling SaaS metrics. The work is technical. The relationships make it worth it.
Outside of work, you’ll find me in the garden, on a trail, or in the middle of some DIY project. I’ve always been drawn to the kind of work where you can see what you built.
